This alert is to inform you that counterfeit student bus passes are being sold around the city. The fraudulent passes closely resemble the real ones. These passes are being sold for approximately $20, compared to the cost of a legitimate bus pass of $43. Students are advised to purchase their bus passes through the school business offices.
Edmonton Transit Service personnel have advised they will be doing random checks of bus passes. All counterfeit passes will be confiscated and a $110 ticket will be issued to students using the phony passes.
