GREENVIEW SCHOOL IS FULL IN PLANNED CLASSES IN:

      -  Kindergarten to Grade 6 in the Regular Program

      -  Kindergarten to Grade 6 in the French Immersion Program

We will no longer be accepting students in the French Immersion Program. For the regular program, we will now only accept resident students for Kindergarten to Grade 6 who newly moved into the school's attendance area.  A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, your must register online.

Principal's Message

Welcome to École Greenview School!

The Leaders of Tomorrow are already here at Greenview! Each of our students has the capability to be a leader in our school and community. Our job is to help them reach that potential. But we cannot do it alone. We need the help of parents/guardians and school partners. Together, we will strive to help students achieve success not only as a leader, but as an educated Albertan.

The co-operative efforts of staff, parents and the community help provide a welcoming and meaningful learning environment that supports students to become:

Engaged Thinkers, and

Ethical Citizens, with an

Entrepreneurial Spirit

The two most powerful indicators of success in school are parent support and a student’s ability to read. In our efforts to help you “Raise A Leader,” I strongly encourage you to participate in your child’s educational journey. I look forward to seeing you throughout what promises to be an awesome school year.

In Partnership,

Les Hansen

Principal

Spring Pre-Enrolment 2021-2022

Please access the REGISTRATION page under the FOR PARENTS tab for

2021-2022 registration information.

Children who are 5 years old on or before December 31, 2021 may register

in Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year.

You must provide your child’s Canadian Birth Certificate or Canadian Citizenship Papers with your registration form as well as proof of your residency (ie. driver’s license, lease agreement, current utility bill, etc.)

We anticipate a strong demand for our French Immersion Kindergarten (FIM) program. To clarify and make it very clear that we are following the Division’s current administrative regulation on Student Accommodation, the process for accepting pre-enrolment in our French Immersion Kindergarten will be as follows:

1. Children who reside within Greenview’s attendance area.

2. Siblings of older students who are currently attending École Greenview School and who will continue to do so next year. If space remains, then

3. Students outside of Greenview’s attendance area are accepted.

4. If there are more applicants from #3, then there are remaining spaces, a RANDOM selection process will occur for those students only who do not meet the first two criteria.

We expect to have a total of 44 FIM Kindergarten spaces for the upcoming school year. If we receive more than 44 applications for the French Immersion program, we will participate in the Division’s spring random selection process (timelines to be determined). As a result, French Immersion Kindergarten registrations for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year will not be finalized until April 22, 2021.

It is important to note that as a school division we do not keep waiting lists or accept students on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. This is to ensure fair and equitable access to all students applying from outside the attendance area.

Makerspaces Program / Espaces Créateurs

Here at Greenveiew we have a room dedicated to student creativity, curiosity and building! Using recycled materials, students create products that meet a need or solve a problem. In essence, we have a space for making, hence the term Makerspace!
